Welcome back, everyone, and thank you for subscribing!
This week, I found out about the Substack live feature and decided to do something different: rather than an essay, I tried a live video on what I wanted to discuss, which is Rhodesian immigration policy and how America would benefit from it. The basic idea is that Rhodesia emphasized, in its immigration policy, letting in only those who it thought would assimilate well to its unique, “more British than the British” culture that blended all the Anglo classes, but particularly the culture of the English upper class, as Rory Duncan recently discussed on here, into something new and adapted for Africa. It is something from which I think the Trump Administration would do well to learn.
A live video sounded fun, and worth trying, so that ’s what I did. Please let me know if you like this format (I have included a non-live video I did on the same subject as well, from when I thought this recording wasn’t saved, if you would like to compare the two and determine which form of video essay you enjoy more).
A number of people chimed in and commented, and it was a great deal of fun, though I certainly have much room for improvement. Thank you to The Black Horse, , , , and many others for tuning into my live video! Join me for my next live video in the app.
If you would prefer listening to a much more polished, non-live version of this video, check out this one here, and please vote below on which one you like more:
