They discuss how Mark came up with the concept almost a decade ago, how he thinks about the writing process, and why he chose to write the books from a first-person point of view across multiple characters. They also discuss weapon systems, military doctrine, working such things into the plots of novels by discussing them with subject matter experts, and how wargaming for companies helped him develop his plots for books.
