Two that I have read and liked are "In the Days of McKinley" and "Herbert Hoover" by Lytton. The House of Morgan by Chernow is good as well, as is his "Titan" on John Rockefeller. The chapter on the cavaliers in Albion's Seed is about a different era, but really a much read.
