I am a Localist States’s Rights Democrat in the Jeffersonian sense, but I also recognize the need to be an Imperial Power to not be subjected yourself. I think the ideal state is a mix of 19th Century America and the Holy Roman Empire of Charles V in its prime. Universal Monarchy/Empire if you will.
