Mad Dog Killers: The Story of a Congo Mercenary by Ivan Smith is an interesting view of 5 commando from a guy in the trenches that isn't too complimentary of Mike Hoare but they still managed to win Congo.
Glad to see you mentioned Executive Outcomes in Angola and Sierra Leone. In Seirra Leone esp, 200 mostly white guys for 10 million (late 90's dollars) managed to do what 15,000 UN "troops" and hundreds of millions of dollars managed not to do Then after the UN messed up Sierra Leone, the British SAS had to basically come in and rescue some groups captured by the rebels
Four Ball One Tracer: Commanding Executive Outcomes in Angola and Sierra Leone by Andrew Hudson and Roelf van Heerden .
Operation Certain Death by Damien Lewis (SAS in Sierra Leone, probably the last time the SAS could really project power, certainly not anymore)
Heck, even Rwanda basically conquered Zaire (now DRC), a country 200 times it's size in the 90's
